An important project which seeks to highlight the properties of the piano beyond its usual repertoires – as well as presenting new utilizations through video recordings of popular improvisations (taksimi), but also songs mainly from the rebetiko, the Cafe Aman and the early urban popular period, is what the composer and musician, Nikos Ordoulidis, recently began working on; titled ‘The Eastern Piano Project’.
