He managed to make the melodies of Vasilis Tsitsanis…a science and to bring pieces such as ‘Cloudy Sunday’ and ‘The baby crabs’ to the realm of university. The researcher Nikos Ordoulidis – who a few months ago was declared a Doctor of the University of Leeds – for five consecutive years researched the rich corpus of Tsitsanis for the requirements of his interesting PhD, which constitutes the first research, on a global scale, on ‘the lord of the rebetiko’.
