The practices of processing and reconstruction of the musical pieces with which the Orchestra Workshop engages in aim to analyze and deconstruct their core and to establish an awareness of the orality that governs them, examining afresh their popular aesthetic. Furthermore, their malleability and ‘force’ are examined in order to achieve the relevant ‘de-territorialization’; the repertoire material, that is, to change the context and the aesthetic and, ultimately, to be ‘commented upon’ utilizing a host of cross-sectional artistic languages. All the above during performance and having as an axis a collective composition, weaving between an experiential and a conscious approach. Parallel to its artistic activity and in the context of its research activity, the workshop addresses the repertoire on a sociological and historical level too, with a view to a, as much as possible, holistic examination.
